Last month we spent an entire day with Mario Saenz, one of Mexico’s biggest skateboarders. 24-year-old Mario has been going to the States to skate ever since he was 17 and he runs two skate shops in Mexico City – no wonder he is popular in the scene! Recently he also started his own shoe company, RID Shoes.

Sketchy neighborhoods, insane traffic, jam-packed metro cars and people walking everywhere all the time can make it a bit tricky sometimes, especially if you want to get clips. But it is also one of the biggest cities in the world and there are countless buildings and endless streets and spots.

Alonso Leal goes by the name of Chango, which is spanish for Monkey. His mom gave him that nick name and you can actually call her and ask for “the monkey”. He was born in Mexicos capital, grew up in Menterrey and then came back to the big city.

Fernan “Tortuga” Origel grew up skating in the south-side Mexico City neighborhood of Churubusco. He got the travel bug around the time he turned 19 and has been splitting his time living between Mexico City, Southern California and Barcelona for different parts of the last 7 years.
